History of Stewart Industries
|
Stewart Industries began modestly in
1963, when W. Roderick Stewart purchased the Concrete Surfacing Machinery Company.
After a series of acquisitions - each purchased to compliment, augment or expand
manufacturing and production capabilities - Stewart Industries moved to its present
location in 1968. The companies acquired, have in themselves, long and distinguished histories: The PMC Printing Machinery Division began operation in the 1920's; the Concrete Surfacing Machinery Division dates back over a half century; and the Bourbon Copper & Brass Works Division- which may have been the first fire hydrant manufacturer in the United States- was founded in 1818. |
